Schools Section Preface |

Martial art schools, doangs, dojos, etc. are where the martial arts are taught and practiced. Although instructors may teach the martial arts anywhere, such as at a church or college, or in a garage, the term school usually refers to a profit or non-profit business location that is dedicated to teaching the martial arts.
There are two main components to a martial art school—the instructor (owner) and the students—one cannot exist without the other. Other component include the place (facility) where the martial art is taught and the way the school is operated (operations).
Topics in the schools section address subjects related to martial arts schools in general.
