Oh Hell!
is
an Excel workbook that keeps score for
the
Oh Hell!
card game, also known as Rat F**k,
Pshaw,
Blackout, Nomination Whist,
Elevator (l'Ascenseur
in France),
Oh Shit!,
Bust, Up and Down the River (in Australia and New
Zealand),
Boerenbridge or
10 op en neer in the Netherlands, and German Bridge
in Hong Kong.
Oh Hell!
is a traditional card game that has been popular in the military since
World War II. It is easy to learn and play. Three to eight players may play but
it is best played with 4-6 players.
Since some cards are not in play on each hand, and since one player in every
hand will not make his or her bid, it causes occasional emotional outbursts—
hence the game's more colorful names. The game is simple to play but scoring is somewhat complicated,
the workbook automates the process. All the user has to do is enter the number
of player, enter player names, mark the first dealer, enter bids for each hand,
and enter the tricks taken each hand, the workbook takes care of everything
else. Using
the workbook on a laptop or mini laptop makes scoring quick and easy and keeps
the game moving quickly.
The workbook provides rules for playing the game. Users may print a score sheet
to use to manually keep score when a laptop is not available for automatic score
keeping.
